The cat is out of the bag, but still in the hat

Last weekend for a while coming up. Tentative schedule:

Friday: A Scanner Darkly at the Naro
Saturday: Beach; buy luggage, among other things; An Inconvenient Truth, also at the Naro
Sunday: Beach; catch up on reading

It’s quite possible that the campaign against poverty and disease, as highlighted recently by the contributions of Messrs Buffett and Gates, will do more immediate, tangible good and cost less than efforts to curb greenhouse gas emissions. To put things in perspective, even following the modest Kyoto protocol restrictions would cost $400bn a year. Of course, money towards better health could hardly be considered well-spent if we let the Earth itself become uninhabitable.
