What would Frank Lloyd Wright Say?

My response to Katie’s so-called Frankenstein Challenge (rules):

Every living creature on earth dies alone…

  1. The Decemberists, “16 Military Wives”
A fun track off the most recent album I purchased.
  2. Bob Dylan, “Subterranean Homesick Blues”
Not blues, per se, but the word blue is in the title.
  3. Ben Folds, “Still Fighting It”
The lyrics start with “Good morning.”
  4. Death Cab for Cutie, “I Will Follow You into the Dark”
Telling your loved one that if they die, you’ll be close behind — that’s romantic.
  5. Third Eye Blind, “Jumper”
Pretty much the first album I ever bought.
  6. Gary Jules, “Mad World”
From the movie that inspired the title of this mix.
  7. Radiohead, “Lucky”
My favourite band … ’nuff said.
  8. Taking Back Sunday, “Cute without the ‘E’ (Cut from the Team)”
Not a huge TBS fan, but this song is catchy.
  9. James Taylor, “Sweet Baby James”
My dad used to sing this to me when I was really little.
  10. Blur, “Parklife”
    British humour.
  11. Smashing Pumpkins, “Landslide”
I actually didn’t know this was a cover at first.
  12. Guster, “Barrel of a Gun”
I listened to this album excessively in high school.
  13. Shawn Colvin, “Sunny Came Home”
I admit, I like this song, even though it was in heavy rotation at the YMCA in the mid 90s.
  14. David Bowie, “Let’s Dance”
I don’t know if this is bona fide funk, but it’s funky enough for me.
  15. Belle & Sebastian, “If You’re Feeling Sinister”
I imagine it rains frequently in Scotland.
  16. Beck, “E-Pro”
You know, that song that goes na na na na na na na.
  17. Jet, “Look What You’ve Done”
One of the few songs in my library that contains the word look, strangely enough.
  18. Joy Division, “Love Will Tear Us Apart”
    Ian Curtis is dead.
  19. Elvis Costello, “Monkey to Man”
    You didn’t specify which Elvis!
  20. Toad the Wet Sprocket, “Walk on the Ocean”
Just because it’s the song with the highest play count in my library.
