More or less.
Patrick: where r u going anyway?
Collin: to some boring relatives’ house
Collin: we do most years around this time
Collin: and it gets duller every year
Patrick: how soon before it reaches the boredom event horizon?
Collin: I don’t know
Collin: it will probably collapse in on itself by then
Collin: creating a black hole
Collin: from which not even fun can escape
Patrick: that may be what’s at the centre of the galaxy that scientists have been trying to find
Patrick: all the fun of scientific inquiry just gets sucked right in
Collin: they’ll be really disappointed if it is
Collin: they’ll stop caring
Patrick: and no one wants to research it anymore
Collin: “We’ve done it! We’ve — you know, I don’t really give a crap anymore. Let’s get a beer.”
Patrick: sounds like something out of a douglas adams book
Collin: or something bound to go into one
Patrick: yeah, if he weren’t dead
Collin: he’s dead here
Collin: but who knows what he’s up to at THE CENTER OF THE EARTH
Patrick: not much, considering the earth got destroyed in all possible universes at the end of his last book
Patrick: but he might be conversing with jules verne
Patrick: since he is the expert on that subject
Collin: yes
Collin: all famous authors take up residence
Collin: at the Earth’s core
Patrick: except dickens
Patrick: they sent him to the moon
Collin: yeah
Collin: he was unpopular at the Center
Collin: (that’s what they call it down there)
Patrick: the Brits call it the Centre
Collin: yes
Collin: in fact, most authors use that spelling
Collin: because it lends an air of old-world sophistication
Patrick: and it really angers Microsoft Word
Collin: yeah
Collin: Microsoft Word has a hard time with variant spellings
Patrick: and correlative clauses
Collin: actually the spelling and grammatical wizards on MS word are hopelessly confuseable
Patrick: and they think they know so much
Collin: that bastard, Gates
Collin: so condescending
Patrick: lol
Patrick: just because one takes over the software market doesn’t mean they can claim to be the final arbiter of grammar and spelling
